Calladoodles, Carshalton Village

Calladoodles is one of my favourite shops, situated right in the heart of Carshalton village. They are great supporters of small businesses, local artists, craftspeople and designers. And, they have absolutely the best range of greeting cards in the area! They are now stocking a selected range of my pottery and I’m very pleased to be there.

Forge 2 Gallery, Culworth

Leading up to what proved to be a very busy Christmas 2016 period I was contacted by Forge 2 Gallery in Culworth on the Oxfordshire / Northamptonshire border. Now run by Miki Bennett the gallery is sited in what used to the village forge, the building that was at the heart of the village community, producing wrought ironware for over thirty years. In it’s current guise as a gallery, it again plays a role in the community as a friendly ‘stop-off’ and resource for local people as well as attracting art lovers from all over the UK and abroad. I supplied some boxes full of wheel-thrown porcelain ceramics and Miki reported that there was even a little tussle between two customers over one of my carved jars:-)

Over the course of 2015, talented local photographer (and jazz musician!) Bill Mudge visited 20 artists to document their work and studios then used the images to Kickstarter crowdfund and publish a beautiful photobook called "20 in 15, the Lives of Artists". A subsequent highly successful exhibition of the images was held at [mine] Gallery in Carshalton. Other artists featured include the amazing Kendra Haste with her life size animal sculptures, the drawings of Abel Kesteven and the sculptures of Jeremy Clark. Bills photos are used extensively on my own websites and social media (see the About page on this website).

And they also commissioned a lot of my porcelain vases - which kept me busy in 2016  :-)
